Around the table.
Private, host-led cooking experiences—facilitated by Mae’s Table.
These workshops aren’t classes you sign up for.
They’re gatherings you host.
You choose the dish, invite your people, and open the door.
Mae’s Table plans and facilitates the experience—guiding the cooking, setting the pace, and bringing everything needed to cook together and share a meal.
No performance.
No pressure.
Just a steady, shared evening around the table.
What is a workshop?
A practical, shared cooking experience designed to build confidence and rhythm in the kitchen.
One person hosts.
Friends are invited.
Mae’s Table facilitates the evening from start to finish.
Together, you’ll cook, talk through technique and timing, and sit down to eat what you’ve made. The focus is practical skill, confidence, and connection—not perfection.
These workshops are designed to work in real kitchens and real life.
Around the Table Workshops are more about the people than the plate.

Hosted Table Workshops are a good fit if you’re looking to:
gather friends for a unique event without planning a full dinner party.
learn a dish you’ll actually make again. Maybe.
cook together instead of watching someone else cook.
host something meaningful without needing to “perform”.
You don’t need to be an experienced cook.
You don’t need a perfect kitchen.
You just need a table and a willingness to gather. -
Here’s the rhythm:
The host selects a dish and secures a date with a deposit. In return, they receive a FREE Mae’s goodie.
Guests are invited by the host
Each guest brings their own ingredients
Mae’s Table provides the recipe, instruction, and cooking supplies
Everyone cooks together and shares the meal
All guest details—ingredients, substitutions, and what to expect—live on a private workshop page that guests can revisit anytime.
-
Hosted Table Workshops can take place:
in the host’s home kitchen
at Mae’s Table, when available
Both options offer the same experience—hands-on, shared, and guided with care.
-
When you book your class, you can choose from some main dishes, desserts, and even basic sourdough.
Whatever your experience level, there’s something for everyone. If you have a specific recipe you want help navigating, just ask. I’m sure we can make it work.
-
Classes need to be booked two weeks in advance to give guests enough time to shop.
As a thank you, hosts choose a free loaf of bread, a dozen cookies, or a dozen scones to enjoy or share.
Depending on the dish chosen, the average class is 2-2.5 hours. This includes prep, eating, and clean-up.
Still undecided…
Here’s a few more details just in case you’re still not sure if this is right for you and your friends.
-
These workshops are designed to build confidence, not showcase skill. Mae’s Table guides the cooking and pacing throughout the evening. You’ll even learn some skills that will help you navigate other recipes with more confidence.
-
I hate complicated, and no one likes extra work, so the goal is simplicity.
The host chooses the dish, invites guests, and provides the space (or uses ours). In return, they receive a FREE Mae’s Bakes goodie.
Mae’s Table handles the planning, facilitation, and flow of the workshop.
Guests even do their own shopping, and I do the clean up while everyone eats ;)
-
Guests bring their own ingredients based on a provided list. This allows everyone to practice with the same items they’ll use at home. Ingredient lists and substitutions due to budget or dietary restrictions are provided on the private workshop page.
-
That’s expected. Workshops are designed to adapt to real kitchens, not staged ones. That’s also why each workshop has a minimum (3 including you) and maximum (6 including you) guest count. You know your home best and can control the number of people invited.
-
The host secures the workshop with a deposit. If plans change, the deposit may be applied toward rescheduling or redeemed for Mae’s Table bread or market goods. Deposits are not refunded.
If you’ve been looking for a way to gather people that feels meaningful—but not overwhelming—this might be your table.
When you’re ready, we’ll help you set it.
